A documentary about the prominent role of Vietnamese Americans in the nail industry is in the process of being made. Makers of the film, called #NailedIt, are raising funds through an Indiegogo campaign to complete the project.
The documentary looks at Vietnamese Americans and how they have become so active in owning and working in nail salons. Among the stories told is “how a chance encounter between 20 female Vietnamese refugees and actress Tippi Hedren in 1975 changed the face of the [nail] trade and industry.”
